Netanyahu Orders Immediate Military Strikes on Gaza
Jerusalem — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has directed the military to launch immediate and “powerful” strikes on the Gaza Strip.
The order follows Israel’s claim that a coffin handed over by Hamas on Monday did not contain the body of an Israeli hostage believed to have died in captivity.
Israeli officials described the act as a “clear violation” of the two-week-old Gaza ceasefire agreement, which had been brokered to facilitate humanitarian aid and the exchange of hostages.
In response, Hamas accused Israel of attempting to “fabricate false pretexts” to justify new military actions in Gaza.
The renewed tension raises fears that the fragile truce could collapse, potentially reigniting full-scale hostilities in the region.
