The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has commenced aerial display rehearsals in Abuja and Lagos ahead of its 61st anniversary celebration, scheduled for May 23, 2025.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the rehearsals are part of activities lined up to mark the occasion and are intended to enhance the spectacle of the celebration’s grand finale.
Gabkwet stated that the aerial manoeuvres will highlight the professionalism and operational capabilities of the NAF, and urged residents of both cities not to panic. He assured the public that all operations are being conducted with strict adherence to safety protocols.
The 61st anniversary is expected to feature high-level participation from military and government officials, and will underscore the Air Force’s role in national security and territorial defence.
