The plot to remove the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Adamu Mu'azu has suffered a major setback as the party's National Executive Committee (NEC) may not meet until after May 29, reports Vanguard.
Mu'azu, who has the power to summon a meeting of the party's NEC is presently out of the country on medical vacation.
Mu'azu, who was expected to return on Tuesday, has reportedly postponed his return to the country until further notice.
With the postponement of his return, it is unlikely the party's NEC would meet until after May 29 when President Goodluck Jonathan would have stepped down from office.
The party's NEC is the only body that has the power, besides the National Convention, to discipline or remove a national officer of the party.
The last NEC was held last September before the March and April elections.
