Lady Gaga dominated the MTV Video Music Awards in New York, winning four awards, including Artist of the Year.

Ariana Grande and Sabrina Carpenter followed closely behind with three awards each.

Grande won the night’s biggest prize, Video of the Year, for Brighter Days Ahead, while Sabrina Carpenter took home Best Album for Short n’ Sweet.

Mariah Carey received her first-ever VMA and also collected the prestigious Video Vanguard Award in recognition of her career.

Gaga, who is currently on tour with Mayhem, also won Best Collaboration with Bruno Mars for Die With a Smile. Her victory brought her total VMA wins to 30, tying her with Beyoncé and Taylor Swift as the most-awarded acts in VMA history.
