Head coach of Paris St-Germain, Mauricio Pochettino has left the club after 18 months in charge.

The 50-year-old’s departure was confirmed by the club, after rumours of him leaving the club went round a month ago.

The former Tottenham boss left PSG after earning his first league success as a manager and guiding the team to a record-equaling 10th French title.

After his exit, a statement was released by the club which read: “Paris Saint-Germain confirm that Mauricio Pochettino has ended his role at the club.

“The club would like to thank Mauricio Pochettino and his staff for their work and wish them the best for the future.”

The former Argentina defender also achieved the feat of having an unbeaten home record in the league this season, ending the campaign with 16 wins in 19 games.

Despite all the achievements with PSG, he could not help the club win the Champions League title, even with Lionel Messi in the team.

On his managerial career, he started as the manager of Espanyol and spent 18 months at Southampton before joining Tottenham in May 2014 and PSG.

Former Nice manager Christophe Galtier is expected to replace Potchettino.
