Interestingly, the Reds went through to the Europa League final, despite the loss to the desperate Italian club.
This feat is a good one for the Reds coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after Manchester United reached their first final of his era at the club. But loss has brought a stop to their seven-match unbeaten record.
Talented Reds player, Edinson Cavani scored both United goals in the second leg of a 13-goal semi-final.
Cavani scored the first goal in the first-half, after making brilliant efforts. For the second goal, Bruno Fernandes made himself available as an instrument for Uruguay star to also find the back of the net.
It was not yet over when former Manchester City forward Edin Dzeko scored his ninth goal against United before Bryan Cristante finished smartly with a shot on the turn.
Roma continued with their attempts to score more goals when the Italians had the final word as Nicola Zalewski’s low drive went in through David de Gea’s legs after taking a deflection off Alex Telles.
At the ened of the day, both legs ended 8-5 aggregate victory for the Reds as they prepare to meet with Villarreal, who showed Arsenal the way out, in Gdansk on 26 May.
