Prince Harry and Meghan’s decision to “step back” from their position as senior royals has been seen by the Queen as a ‘disappointment’ after failing to consult her.

On Wednesday, the couple issued an incredible statement where they also announced their decision to divide their time between the UK and North America.

More so, Buckingham Palace was not informed about the statement prior to its release, even as they have promised to “fully support” the Queen.

According to Sky’s royal correspondent Rhiannon Mills, a statement was released which reads: “I’m told that the statement was solely written by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – no senior members of the Royal Family were consulted before it was released.”

In another development, It was also revealed that, Harry and Meghan had just begun talks with the Queen and Charles about their future roles when they made their decision to go public.

Speculations are already trailing the actions of Prince Harry and Meghan’s action, especially in the aspect of whether a rift has developed at the heart of the monarchy.

It was also recorded that Buckingham Palace warned the couple of their decision to step back from the royal family will be “complicated”.

Explaining more about their decision, an interesting statement was shared on Instagram, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said: “After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution.

“We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.”

The royals added that they now “plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth and our patronages”.

Harry and Meghan continued: “This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity.
