Late Awujale, Oba Sikiru Adetona, Laid to Rest in Ijebu-Ode

The remains of the late Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, have been laid to rest at his private residence, Ogbagba Court, located in the Igbeba area of Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

The burial, conducted according to Islamic rites, was led by the Chief Imam of Ijebuland, Sheikh Muftideen Ayanbadejo, alongside other Islamic clerics.

Dignitaries from across the country attended the solemn ceremony to pay their last respects. Among them were former Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo; members of the Federal Government delegation, including Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola; and the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Also in attendance were former Ogun State Governor, Aremo Olusegun Osoba; businessman and philanthropist, Chief Ladi Adebutu; and Senator Gbenga Daniel, among other notable figures.

Oba Adetona, who reigned for over six decades, was widely respected as a revered monarch, progressive traditional ruler, and statesman who contributed immensely to the development of Ijebuland and the traditional institution in Nigeria.
