Lagos State — Kolade Alabi, the Chairman of Bariga Local Government Area and Lagos State Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), collapsed on Wednesday during a stakeholders’ meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikeja.
According to eyewitnesses at the Lagos APC Secretariat, Alabi was addressing party members when he suddenly slumped, causing panic among attendees. The incident occurred in the presence of several high-ranking party officials and council chairmen from across the state.
He was quickly attended to by aides and medical personnel at the venue and was revived before being rushed to a hospital via ambulance for further medical evaluation and care. His current condition has not yet been disclosed.
Party sources say the cause of the collapse remains unclear, although speculations point to possible exhaustion or health-related issues. No official statement has been released by his office or the APC as of press time.
The meeting was briefly suspended following the incident but later resumed with a toned-down agenda.
