JURY CLEARS CARDI B OF ASSAULT IN $24M LAWSUIT

A California jury has cleared American rapper Cardi B of assault in a $24 million civil lawsuit filed by former security guard, Emani Ellis.

Ellis alleged that in February 2018, outside an obstetrician’s office in Los Angeles, the rapper then secretly pregnant, cut her cheek with a three-inch fingernail and spat on her.

She claims the incident left her traumatised.

Cardi B, born Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar, denied the allegations, testifying that although the confrontation grew heated, she never touched Ellis.

She says the guard had followed and filmed her despite repeated requests for privacy during a promotional trip to Los Angeles for the NBA All-Star Game.

After an hour of deliberation, the jury dismissed all claims, including assault, battery, negligence, false imprisonment, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
