American actor James Michael Tyler has died at the age of 59 in his Los Angeles home on Sunday.

This development was disclosed by Tyler’s representative, Toni Benson. Tyler passed away after suffering from prostate cancer which was first diagnosed in 2018.

On the feat of Tyler, the talented actor can be remembered for his role as Gunther on the NBC sitcom Friends, the manager of the Central Perk coffee shop and Rachel’s admirer on the iconic 90s TV show for 10 seasons and others.

The passing on of the graduate of Anderson College (now Anderson University) and Clemson University, has triggered comments from Benson whose statement read:

“The world knew him as Gunther (the seventh “Friend”), from the hit series Friends, but Michael’s loved ones knew him as an actor, musician, cancer-awareness advocate, and loving husband,”

“Michael loved live music, cheering on his Clemson Tigers, and would often find himself in fun and unplanned adventures. If you met him once you made a friend for life.”
