Justice Nathan Musa of Yola High Court has granted bail to Bala Ngilari, former Adamawa State Governor, on health grounds, after he appealed against his recent conviction.
Ngilari was granted bail in the sum of N100 million with two sureties, who must deposit Certificates of Occupancy of landed property owned in Yola.
Justice Musa said the former governor would enjoy his bail pending the determination of his appeal.
Justice Musa, on March 6, sentenced Ngilari to five years in prison, without an option of fine.
Meanwhile the absence of presiding Justice Mohammed Idris yesterday stalled the trial of former Governor of Oyo State, Rashidi Ladoja, for alleged fraud.
The judge travelled to Abuja on a one-day training organised for judges of the Federal High Court.
The case was adjourned till March 31 for continuation of trial.
The former Oyo State Governor is being tried alongside Waheed Akanbi who served as Commissioner for Finance under him.
The duo were accused of conspiring among themselves to siphon N4.7 billion from the coffers of the state.
