American rapper, Jermaine Lamarr Cole has debuted in his first professional basketball game with the Rwanda Patriots in the Basketball Africa league.

Cole 36, who achieved this feat two days after dropping his sixth studio album “Off Season”, made his first basket, few minutes into the game which the Rwandan team faced the Nigerian, River Hooper’s and won with 83 – 60 points.

Based on his article featured on Player’s Tribune, it was revealed that he had to give up his dream of being a professional basketball player for his passion, rap.

J Cole started his career in basketball in Terry Sanford High School in North Carolina.

He followed his dreams in basketball when he grabbed an academic scholarship opportunity, as he tried out as a walk-on at St. John’s University.

Another feat by him was that he made the team as one of the 10 call-back players during his sophomore year.
