Israeli Strike on Gaza Hospital Kills 20, Including Five Journalists
An Israeli airstrike today on a hospital in Gaza resulted in 20 deaths, among them five journalists, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict. This incident follows a similar attack two weeks ago on August 11, 2025, near al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, where six journalists, including four from Al Jazeera, were killed in what was described as a targeted strike.
The United Nations human rights office strongly condemned the earlier attack, labeling it a serious violation of international law. In that incident, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated they targeted Anas al-Sharif, a well-known Al Jazeera correspondent, claiming he was a Hamas operative leading a terrorist cell.
However, the IDF’s allegations were met with skepticism, as no definitive evidence was made public to substantiate their claims.
