Fast rising Nigerian music artiste Dhortune, well known as ThatOndoBoy says he will like to work with Adekunle Gold because he has been doing a lot of sounds that he really appreciates.
Speaking as a guest on “Silverbird Television”, the first Nigerian and West African winner of Afro Music revealed that there are a lot of artistes in Nigeria, who sing Afro-beat, Afro pop and others, but they don’t sing about or showcase their culture to the world.
When asked about the acceptance of his music, and his style being a limitation, the Ondo State born artiste revealed that people outside Nigeria who don’t understand Ondo, love the music, stressing that the language helped him to emerge the winner of the Afro Music.
ThatOndoBoy whose song has is a fusion of Ondo, English and pidgin also disclosed that there are people who love his sound and value culture, stressing that whenever he performs, he puts on the native wears and attires.
On the main reason he is called ThatOndoBoy, the culture inclined singer also stated that; exposing the culture and not about singing his song alone, is what matters.
The culture enthusiast who made references to some traditional terms like, Oriki, Owe and Akalode, said when one has an idea about the aforementioned, he or she must have dined with the elders.
On his next plan, the “Yemi” crooner says he will be having his first concert in Ondo state and it will be livestreamed all over the world.
