Renowned Nigerian comedian, Francis Agoda well known as I go Dye, said he is not going to campaign for any politician.
Agoda who made this statement during an interview with Sunday Scoop said, “I will not stake my integrity for any politician, even if I am offered N1bn, because some of them often abuse the trust given to them. What comfort have they given to the electorate? The major sacrifices made for them (by Nigerians) have not made life more meaningful for the people, The Punch reports.
“There is no need for me to campaign for any of them because in the long run, the hardship meted on us will still be there. Whenever I see any politician that don’t live above their means and sustain the integrity test, I will campaign to them for free.”
While speaking on the chances the youth have to become leaders in the country, the comedian said, “The youth make up the larger part of the voting population and they have always played a role in the emergence of any candidate.
“The youth are beginning to see the possibilities of determining how they want their future to be.”
On his consistency in the industry, he said, “It has been by the grace of God, who gives life, wisdom and understanding to all men. However, when anyone identifies their natural abilities, and are disciplined enough to do what is right, irrespective of personal gains, it becomes very easy for them to sustain a level of growth.”
