The House of Representatives on Wednesday resolved to probe Sukuk-backed road projects valued at about ONE POINT TWO FOUR TRILLION NAIRA raised in the past seven years
The resolution of the House followed the adoption in plenary of a motion of urgent public importance sponsored by Nasarawa lawmaker, Jonathan Gbefwi.
Recall that the Federal Government has, since 2017, through the Debt Management Office, raised over ONE TRILLION NAIRA through six Sovereign Sukuk issuances to financeONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FOUR federal road projects spanning FIVE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND TWENTY kilometres across the nation’s six geopolitical zones.
