Lagos, Nigeria | September 7, 2025 — Lagos witnessed history at the weekend as Shehu Bamidele set a new Guinness World Record in 8-ball pool during the Poolfest Naija 2025 event at the Silverbird Galleria.

Powered by Globus Bank and organized by Poolfest Naija, the five-day marathon drew large crowds who watched Bamidele display extraordinary focus and endurance. He played pool continuously for 112 hours, surpassing the previous record of 111 hours.

“Shehu was relentless and determined. He embodied the spirit of the event, and his focus never wavered,” said Folajimi Abegunde, Project Coordinator for Poolfest Naija.

Reflecting on his success, Bamidele said:

“This achievement is proof that Nigeria can command global attention through entertainment and recreation. I’m deeply grateful to the organizers, Globus Bank, and all the sponsors who made this possible.”
