More than three million doses of Pfizer vaccines is expected to be sent to Nigeria in the next two weeks.
This development was disclosed by a healthcare official on Tuesday, in a country where two million people have been fully vaccinated.
On the target for the jab, about 4% of the targeted 111 million eligible population have received their jab, which is nearly five million people across the country.
Donations of the vaccine across the world have not stopped as France, on Monday donated 501,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines to Nigeria.
The gesture has triggered comments from President Buhari who stated that his government will continue to explore options for acquisition of vaccines to enable it to vaccinate at least 70% of the eligible population.
Sources have disclosed that only 15 out of 54 countries in Africa, have achieved the 10% target, while half of the countries on the continent have vaccinated less than 2% of their population.
