The number of people currently hospitalized with Covid-19 in the United States, have gone beyond a 100,000.
This development was disclosed by a data from the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), CNN reports.
With such outrageous number of people, the number puts the US in a worse place than August of last year.
This number has also exceeded more than double the 48,851 in the hospital on the same day last year, since it was reported that 100,317 people hospitalized with the virus Wednesday.
The situation started being severe in the US from the early part of July, 2021. An evidence is the rapid rise in Covid-19 hospitalizations and 10% growth in the past week alone.
While authorities are looking for a way out, hospitals are struggling to treat the wave of incoming patients, while 48.3% of the US are still not fully vaccinated.
The situation automatically means that cases are not reducing but, on the rise again.
One part of US has suffered the effects of the deadly pandemic is Florida. HHS data reports revealed that, with about 80 hospitalizations per 100,000 people, it has the worst per capita rate in the country.
Others are: Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia and Louisiana, each with more than 55 hospitalizations per 100,000 people.
