The total number of  people infected with coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Nigeria has hit 146,184, after the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control reported 520 new cases.

This development was revealed by NCDC on its official Twitter handle on Sunday, The Punch reports

According to NAN, Nigeria recorded the lowest single-day rise in its tally in one week, with the 520 fresh cases in the last 24 hours.

Due to complications from the virus, the health agency also registered five additional COVID-19 deaths which make the country’s total death toll to 1,752.

Meanwhile, 18 states, including the Federal Capital Territory are part of the states where the new cases were reported.

NCDC said, Ondo State registered 120 cases, Borno-41, Ebonyi-37, Benue-33, Plateau-30, FCT-29, Nasarawa-25, Ogun-25, Edo-24, Osun-24 and Katsina-22.

Kaduna, according to the agency, reported 21 new cases, Niger-20, Kwara-14, Ekiti-13, Yobe-10, Oyo had four, while Bayelsa and Jigawa had one each.

Stating further, the NCDC noted that the data obtained from Borno and Ondo States were for the last two days.

On the number of people that have been treated, the agency disclosed that about 439 people had gotten treatment successfully for COVID-19 and were discharged on Sunday, raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 120,838.
