UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced England will go under a four week lockdown starting on Thursday.

According to current plans pubs, restaurants, gyms and non-essential shops across the country will have to close until December 2, Evening Standard reports.

However, this morning Michael Gove admitted that people may have to stay at home for longer if the coronavirus rate is not brought down.

The UK has now confirmed more than one million Covid-19 cases since the start of the pandemic, with another 23,254 infections and 162 deaths from the disease confirmed overnight.
