As the cases and casualties of coronavirus increase in the US, American business magnate, Bill Gates has condemned the country’s actions concerning the pandemic.
The renowned philanthropist has dubbed the current situation as “more bleak” than he would have believed.
This development has come after the US deaths recorded, surpassed 125,000 on Thursday and almost 140,000 cases a day.
The Microsoft co-founder has also made comments concerning the measures put in place so far to curb the deadly virus in the US.
Meanwhile, he has has channeled his thoughts as regards the situation to President Donald Trump; admitting he was “still pretty disappointed” with him.
While making comments on CNN on Thursday night, Mr. Gates said, “The US in particular hasn’t had the leadership messages or coordination that you would have expected,” “I’m still pretty disappointed.”
Speaking further to CNN, Mr Gates tagged US actions as burdensome, and was “not even close” to managing the pandemic.
Mr Gates also said, “It’s possible to ramp up testing for a new pathogen very, very fast,”
“In fact a number of countries did that extremely well in this case and the technology keeps getting better there.”
