The enforcement of a total lockdown in Kano State has been pronounced by President Muhammadu Buhari for the period of two weeks with immediate effect.
This new development announced during President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari’s nationwide broadcast on Monday.
While an extension of the lockdown by one week was imposed in Lagos, Abuja and Ogun, Buhari said Kano that has witnessed huge number of “mysterious” deaths will observe two more weeks of the lockdown.
While making the speech, he said, “With regards to Kano, I have directed the enforcement of a total lockdown for a period of two weeks effective immediately.
“The Federal Government shall deploy all the necessary human, material and technical resources to support the state in controlling and containing the pandemic and preventing the risk of further spread to neighbouring states.”
