World’s richest man Jeff Bezos has promised to to help fight climate change with a of commitment $10 billion (£7.7bn).

A report from Evening Standard reveals that the CEO of Amazon, disclosed that, the cash would fund scientists, activists and charities fighting to protect the environment.

Speaking further on climate change on Monday, Bezos announced what he referred to as the “Bezos Earth Fund” stressing that, climate change is the “biggest threat to our planet.”

Bezos on his Instagram post said:

“I want to work alongside others both to amplify known ways and to explore new ways of fighting the devastating impact of climate change on this planet we all share,”

On the history global warming, Bezos is among a growing list of billionaires to that has financially contributed to fight the menace.

As part of the initiative Grants will be issued this summer by the Bezos Earth Fund.

Bezos sharing more of his views on global warming said, “It’s going to take collective action from big companies, small companies, nation states, global organizations, and individuals.”
