Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour Dumps Labour Party for ADC

The former Labour Party governorship candidate in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Rhodes-Vivour announced his defection at a political gathering in Lagos on Saturday.

The move comes amid efforts by the ADC to lead a coalition of opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections. The coalition, which was officially launched in July, has been reaching out to influential political figures in an attempt to establish a strong third force against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Rhodes-Vivour, who was the Labour Party’s candidate in the 2023 Lagos governorship election, is expected to play a key role in strengthening the ADC’s position within the coalition.
