The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton has come into contact with someone who has since tested positive for Covid-19 leaving her with no other choice than to self-isolate.

According to CNN, the spokesperson at Kensington Palace said, “Her Royal Highness is not experiencing any symptoms, but is following all relevant government guidelines and is self-isolating at home,”

Speaking further, the spokesperson revealed that the Duchess will not attend Monday’s engagements.

Before the development, Kate who is preparing to spend a period of self-isolation at home, was due to spend the day with William as he celebrates the 73rd anniversary of the NHS.

According to their plans, the couple were to attend a service of thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral in honour of the health service, and in the afternoon host a “Big Tea” at Buckingham Palace for NHS staff, in their roles as joint patrons of NHS Charities Together.

The spokesperson said, “Last week the Duchess of Cambridge came into contact with someone who has subsequently tested positive for Covid-19. Her Royal Highness is not experiencing any symptoms, but is following all relevant government guidelines and is self-isolating at home.”
