The impeachment trial of former US President, Donald Trump has hit day 4, leaving the defence to make its case.
Before this development occurred, there was an argument earlier this week, about the entire impeachment.
Trump’s legal team asserted that it was unconstitutional and a violation of the former president’s due process rights.
Meanwhile, they lost that argument, so now they had to set about defending the former president on the merits of the case.
Just over three hours, Trump’s lawyers were able to present their arguments – a far cry from the 13 hours the impeachment managers took to lay out their prosecution.
On the possibilities ahead, it already seems clear that enough Republicans will stick by the former president to assure a not guilty verdict, because for the defence, less could be more.
