First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, through her Renewed Hope Initiative, has donated N1 billion to Nigeria’s National Cancer Fund, aiming to combat cervical cancer.
Speaking during a visit from the National Taskforce on Cervical Cancer Elimination, coinciding with World Health Day, Tinubu urged women to seek medical help without shame. She emphasized that a healthy nation is a wealthy nation.
Health officials praised her support for the HPV vaccine rollout, crediting her advocacy for the immunization of millions of girls. The World Health Organization (WHO) also appealed to the First Lady to lead the national campaign against the disease.
The press release, issued by Senior Special Adviser Media, Busola Kukoyi, highlighted the First Lady’s commitment to improving women’s health in Nigeria.
