FG UNVEILS 2025 INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY THEME
The Federal Government has unveiled the official theme for Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary: “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation.”
According to a press release from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the theme was chosen to emphasize the importance of unity, collaboration, and patriotism across all sectors—public, private, and civil society—as well as among all citizens. This collaborative effort is seen as essential for building a nation defined by sustainable peace and progress.
The government highlighted that since gaining independence on October 1, 1960, Nigeria has faced challenges but has also made significant strides in various economic sectors. The official theme for the 65th anniversary aims to consolidate these achievements and inspire Nigerians to work toward “loftier objectives” and create a more powerful nation for everyone.
All government programs and activities for the anniversary are expected to align with the theme, ensuring its message resonates throughout national efforts to actualize the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Activities to mark the anniversary will include a Juma’at Prayer on Friday, September 26, at 1 p.m., an Inter-Denominational Church Service on Sunday, September 28, at 10 a.m., and a World Press Conference on Monday, September 29, at 10 a.m.
