FG To Unveil STEMM UP Grant TO Boost Students’ Innovation
The Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Education is poised to unveil the Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medical Sciences Student Venture Capital Grant (S-VCG), also known as the “STEMM Up Grant”
This is, a pioneering initiative designed to empower students in Nigeria’s tertiary institutions to build the next generation of scalable, job-creating ventures.
The Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, in a statement revealed that the STEMM Up Grant will target full-time undergraduate students in STEMM disciplines, specifically those in their three hundred level and above,
They will be eligible to receive startup funding of up to fifty million naira , alongside access to mentorship, incubation services, and business development support,
The Minister of Education emphasized that the STEMM Up Grant is a launchpad for bold, young innovators to lead Nigeria’s industrial and technological transformation.
The Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad, described the grant as a strategic investment in Nigeria’s knowledge economy, noting that it will build a stronger, more competitive future by supporting innovation from the ground up.
This initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes inclusive education, youth empowerment, and sustainable economic development.
