FBI To Release President Tinubu’s Probe Report On Friday

The much awaited release of report into the alleged drug related case involving President Bola Tinubu are expected to be released on Friday, May 2, 2025

This is compliance with the order of the court made in early April by the US District Court for the District Court of Columbia,

The agencies expected to make their investigation reports available are US Attorneys, Department of State, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

The Court had ordered remaining parties in the matter, apart from CIA, to jointly file the report on the status of any outstanding issues in this case.

Here’s what we know so far¹ ² ³:
– *Allegations*: The investigation allegedly involves Tinubu’s connection to a drug trafficking network, with individuals named Lee Andrew Edwards, Mueez Abegboyega Akande, and Abiodun Agbele also implicated.
– *Court Ruling*: Judge Beryl Howell ruled in favor of transparency, stating that withholding the documents from public disclosure is “neither logical nor plausible.”
– *Agencies Involved*: The agencies expected to release the reports include:
– *Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)*
– *Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)*
– *Internal Revenue Service (IRS)*
– *US Attorneys’ Offices*
– *Department of State*
– *Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)* (exempt from disclosure)
– *Presidential Response*: The Nigerian presidency has downplayed the significance of the report, asserting that it doesn’t contain new or incriminating information against President Tinubu.

The release of these documents may renew scrutiny of the longstanding allegations surrounding President Tinubu’s past.
