A male student, Olajide Sanyaolu, who got financial support for his academics from Nigerian pop star, Davido has announced his graduation from Afe Babalola University with first-class honours, on Monday.

After achieving this feat, Sanyaolu, expressed his graditude to Davido for his kind gesture on Twitter where he tweeted with his handle @JaySanya: “Uni timeline:Davido

@davido dropped funds to support my fundraiser (thanks to Twitter folk)

#ThankYouJesus.”

The Award winning music star replied Sanyaolu by Davido acknowledging his tweet, saying “Crazy! Happy for you.” The Punch reports.

Going memory lane on how it all started, Sanyaolu, a student of Liverpool University studying Electronics and Communications Engineering opened a GoFundMe page to help in raising his school fees. His goal was to raise £24,700 for his tuition.

Davido announced that he would reward one of his fans with N1 million to celebrate reaching one million followers on Instagram. So the music star’s announcement coincided with the period Sanyaolu needed help. But Olajide had only raised a little more than £3,900, before Davido’s donation.

Interestingly, on August 19, 2015, a cheque of N1 million was presented to him by Davido himself.
