The list of Nominations for the UK’s prestigious BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) awards has been announced Tuesday.

This development has occurred, following last year’s controversy over a lack of representation.

Interestingly, the nomination list is taking a different dimension this time as more than half of the 24 nominees in the acting categories are from ethnic minority backgrounds.

They include: Daniel Kaluuya for “Judas and the Black Messiah” and Bukky Bakray for “Rocks.”

The female folks have worked hard this time in the director category, as four women were nominated including “Nomadland” director Chloé Zhao.

A recent feat by her is becoming the first woman of Asian descent and second woman, ever to win the same award at this year’s Golden Globes.
