Nigerian music artiste, Mike Nliam said he writes songs in his dream and music has been a part of him.
Nliam, who has been in the music scene for a long time, disclosed this while speaking on the show, ‘Silverbird Today’, stressing that he is back to music.
Speaking on his recent song and the reasons he writes songs, the music producer and songwriter said, “Basically, aspirations inspired me to do the song. Everyone aspires; the poor, the rich. For me I wanted to do a song to inspire people, no mater what, I don’t give up.’’
Nliam, while commenting on other aspects of music he is engaged in, stated that he has been behind the scene as a producer, songwriter and soundtrack maker. He also empahsized that he always wanted to sing because, somewhere, somehow, music has always been there.
Speaking on his comeback to music, the end of 2019 was the period Nliam confirmed that he started recording again.
The music producer also shared his thoughts about his style of music and the inspiration around it, with a reference to Nigerian Afrobeat music Icon, Fela Anikulapokuti.
In his words, “I write song in my dreams, it is passion, and it is something I must do. After listening to a song like Fela, on the long run, I will be releasing songs one after the other, eventually I will come out with an EP. I make movies, I’m an agent. We will go from here to Hollywood.’’
On contemporary artistes, Nliam said he likes Davido, his energy and passion for music. Nliam also hailed Grammy Award nominee, Burna Boy, stressing that Energy is Hyper and he is talented. Amongst the female artistes, Yemi Alade, and Niniola were mentioned.
Nliam also spoke about Nigerian music. He said Nigerian artistes are excelling because they are using the indigenous language to sing and rap.
He also claimed that the music has gone international and better packed, but it is just one way.
