A man has been arrested in connection to the death of Nicki Minaj’s father.

After the hit-and-run incident in New York on Friday, Robert Maraj, 64, died in hospital.

In the course of the search for the killer of Maraj, Charles Polevich, 70, was traced and his car was tracked by Nassau County Police. While the search was on, he turned himself into police; the police disclosed in a news conference.

So far, Polevich has been charged with leaving the scene of an auto accident with a fatality and tampering with evidence.

Meanwhile, the Police stated that he was “absolutely aware” of what had happened.

In detective Fitzpatrick’s words, “He got out of the car and he looked at the deceased, got into his car, and made the conscious decision to leave instead of dialling 911, and reaching an ambulance for the man.

“He went home and secluded the vehicle. He’s well aware of what he did,”

In summary, Police say “the investigation is ongoing”, and the rapper hasn’t said anything publicly yet.
