Mr Guy Murray-Bruce has been appointed Group President of the Silverbird Group with effect from 3 rd of March 2020. Prior to his appointment, Mr Murray-Bruce had served as Executive Vice President of the Silverbird Group with responsibility for the local and international operations of the Group.
The Silverbird Group of Companies, which comprises Silverbird Communications Limited (STV and Rhythm FM); Silverbird Cinemas (Nigeria, Ghana and Liberia); Silverbird News24; Dream Magic Studios (USA); Silverbird Film Distribution (W.A) Limited and Silverbird Properties Limited.
The Group also hosts Nigeria’s premiere beauty pageant “ The Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria” and the Man of the Year Award. Mr. Guy Murray-Bruce is a graduate of Business Administration from the California State University from where he graduated in 1985. he joined the Silverbird Group in 1992.
As the organizer of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant, Mr Guy Murray-Bruce took lead in the emergence of Miss Agbani Darego as the winner of the Miss World pageant in 2001 and the singular privilege of winning the hosting rights of the Miss World pageant in Nigeria in 2002.
In his new office as Group President, Mr Guy Murray-Bruce will be focusing on strategic alliances and partnerships with Nollywood and Hollywood producers to boost content availability and variety in Nigeria. He will also be shaping the new narrative on how Silverbird Operations look and feel across board ushering in a new era of innovative and strategic management practices.
He is a member of The Bayelsa Business Council (BYBC) which formulates policies aimed at attracting local and foreign investors to the state of its responsibilities the laying of solid economic foundation and formulation of economic policies that would be private sector driven.
He is a member of the International Academy of Television Art and Science (USA); Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (IBAN) and an Executive Member of Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria (BON) which are all bodies responsible for shaping and protecting the integrity of Broadcasting Practices.
He is happily married to Anne Murray-Bruce and they have 4 children.
