Renowned Nigerian singer David Adedeji Adeleke, well known as Davido, says he intends to motivate people with his wealth.
According to Vanguard, Davido also said he’s unfazed by the criticism he has received for flaunting his family’s wealth, especially in a country that’s battling high poverty levels.
The talk about the popular artist’s wealth is now not far from the musician’s father, Adedeji Adeleke, who owns a business conglomerate and a private university.
The recent news of an acquisition of a private jet belonging to the father of the ‘’Gobe’’ crooner went viral when Davido recently shared the video.
Interestingly, the private jet is not the first, but the second one which has landed at a Nigerian airport.
On the reasons he has displayed the video, Davido said, He said his intention is to inspire people and stressed that he wants to show the world that Africans are living large.
In Davido’s words, “We’re not here to rub it in anybody’s face, we’re here to show motivation. Many kids write to me and tell me that I’m the reason they want to finish school, and projects, and become successful. In America there are people who think we live in huts, sometimes I feel like I want to show them… We’re living the life, we’re going crazy, you feel me? It has nothing to do with showing off or trying to oppress anybody. They oppress us enough.”
