Singer R. Kelly is facing an accusation from Faith Rogers, as she says the singer raped and and infected her with herpes when she was 19.
Listening to R. Kelly’s side of the story, the singer has threatened to demand that 10 male witnesses testify “under oath” about his rape accuser’s sex life as part of her lawsuit against him, according to a letter obtained by the Daily Mail.
The letter reportedly targets Faith Rodgers, who filed a lawsuit claiming Kelly knowingly infected her with herpes, raped her, and abused her when she was 19.
In an Oct. 2018 letter addressed to Rodgers’ lawyer, Kelly wrote that he and his legal team were prepared to ask for materials to prove Rogers’ claims if she did not drop her lawsuit—including “medical records” to back up her STD claim and “10 personal male witnesses” to testify on her sex life.
The letter also said Kelly’s legal team would demand records like “text/face time message exchanges” so that they could be “authenticated by” Kelly.
“Please advise Ms. Rodgers, your client, to abandon this heartless effort to try to destroy my musical legacy for selfish, personal enrichment,” the letter, signed by Kelly, read.
“If she persists in court action she will be subjected to public opinion during the discovery process.” The letter then claimed Rogers was associated with “organizers” of a “negative campaign” against Kelly.
The letter was filed to court by Rogers’ lawyer after she requested a “preliminary conference” on the suit—which is reportedly scheduled for March 19.
