Emir Sanusi Leads Special Prayer for Late Aminu Dantata
Alhaji Aliko Dangote and Tajuddeen Dantata, the eldest son of the late business icon Aminu Dantata, on Tuesday received a powerful delegation from Kano and Jigawa States who traveled to Madina to pay their final respects.
This was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Tuesday.
The delegation, led by the Governor of Kano State, alongside Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi, former Jigawa Governor Barr. Ali Sa’ad Birnin Kudu, and the Emir of Kano, Khalifa Muhammadu Sanusi II, joined the grieving family ahead of the funeral rites scheduled after Asr prayer at the Holy Mosque.
Tajuddeen Dantata expressed profound gratitude for the delegation’s presence, describing it as a testament to the love and respect his late father commanded across Nigeria and beyond.
Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Africa’s leading industrialist and a member of the Dantata family, also thanked the delegation for standing by the family in their moment of loss.
Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II led the family, dignitaries, and hundreds of mourners in a special prayer for the soul of the late Aminu Dantata.
The prayer highlighted Dantata’s lifelong commitment to philanthropy, community development, and his role as a pillar of Nigeria’s business history.
Earlier, the delegation visited the family’s residence at Mobeed Hotel in Madina to deliver their condolences personally.
The presence of prominent figures—including the Emir of Karaye, Dr. Muhammad Mahraz, and Chairman of the Kano Business Community, Alhaji Sabiu Bako—further underlined the profound impact of Aminu Dantata’s life and legacy.
As thousands converge in Madina to bid farewell, the outpouring of respect and prayer reflects the remarkable story of a man whose generosity and vision shaped generations.
