Lagos State Government has said that the Indian contractor brought to its facility on Tuesday for coronavirus has tested negative to COVID-19.
The state Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, disclosed this via his twitter handle Tuesday night.
Silverbird Televison online had earlier received a message from a doctor within the refinery health facility that an Indian contractor who flew in to Nigeria came with some symptoms suspected to be associated with COVID-19.
According to the doctor, the Indian could not breath perfectly and also coughed consistently.
However, speaking on the outcome the test conducted on the Indian, the state commissioner of health, Abayomi said, “the test carried out on an Indian national that was admitted in our facility yesterday (Monday) night with symptoms suggestive of #COVID19 has tested negative to #COVID19.
“He is doing perfectly well in our isolation unit. His case will be reviewed in the morning (Wednesday).”
Nigeria on Tuesday announced its third confirmed case in Lagos State.
The third was unconnected with the index case, an Italian who came to Nigeria from Milan, Italy.
The latest case was a Nigerian national in her 30s, who returned from a short visit to the United Kingdom on March 13.
