Other sports apart from football have joined in postponing their matches as a result of the spread of coronavirus.

According to Sky Sports, organisers of a marathon event called Paris marathon, on Thursday postponed the event from April 5th to October 18th due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Amaury Sports Organisation (ASO) after releasing a statement said:

“In order to avoid a late cancellation that would penalise the participants, we have, in agreement with the Paris mayor’s office, decided to postpone the Paris marathon to October 18th,”

Reports from reliable sources also revealed that the European country second most affected by coronavirus after Italy; France, now has more than 400 coronavirus cases, including the death seven people.

In football, the Italian league said in a statement on Thursday that five Italian Serie A matches which were postponed between Feb 29 and March 2 because of the coronavirus outbreak, including the heavyweight clash between Juventus and Inter Milan will take place on Sunday.

Moreso, the government has released a decree that spectators won’t be in the stadium when matches are played.

As for the public, the government has barred the public from all sports events until April 3, in a bid to curb Europe’s worst coronavirus outbreak.

In Italy, matches like Parma v SPAL, AC Milan v Genoa, Sampdoria v Verona and Udinese v Fiorentina, while a sixth game, Sassuolo v Brescia, will be played on Monday.
