COMEDIAN ALIBABA EVICTED FROM VICTORIA ISLAND PROPERTY
Veteran Nigerian comedian, Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome, known as ‘Ali Baba’, has been evicted from his multi-million-naira property on Victoria Island following a court ruling.
Ali Baba bought the property for ₦220 million in 2021 from the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).
However, the property is at the centre of an ongoing ownership dispute in the Federal High Court.
The eviction was carried out by court bailiffs on August 15, 2025 after a writ of possession was issued.
It was revealed that Ali Baba purchased the property while the legal dispute over its ownership was still unresolved, despite a court order to preserve the property.
Reports also suggest that, before AMCON’s sale, Ali Baba had been a tenant of the property’s original owner, who was evicted before the comedian bought it.
