The theme for the 2016 Met Gala, “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology,” was intended to celebrate haute couture while also appreciating the role technology has played in moving fashion forward.
Perhaps no dress better represented that theme on Monday night than designer Zac Posen’s gown for Claire Danes.

On the red carpet, Danes’ dress looked elegant and sophisticated. The light blue color gave off some serious Cinderella vibes, while the styling of Danes’ hair and makeup channeled Grace Kelly.

But it turns out, the dress had another trick planned. It was fully illuminated.
The lights didn’t show on the carpet, but Posen posted images of the dress illuminated on Instagram.

What a haute fusion of fashion and tech.
