Justice Okon Abang of a Federal high court in Abuja has dismissed an application asking him to disqualify himself from further presiding over the trial of the national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic party, Chief Olisa Metuh, for money laundering charges.
 
The chief judge of the federal high court, Justice Ibrahim Auta, had also in a March 24, 2016 letter dismissed Metuh’s petition asking for the transfer of the case from justice Abang to another judge.
 
Justice Abang dismissed the application by mr metuh for lacking merit after entertaining arguments in support of it by Mr metuh's lawyer, Emeka Etiaba (SAN), and against by the counsel for the Economic and Financial Crimes commission, Mister Sylvanus Tahir.
 
EFCC is prosecuting mister metuh and his firm before on seven counts of money laundering including two million dollars cash transaction.
