No fewer than five people died when a boat capsized in Canada on Wednesday.

The boat capsized because it lost its stability due to the fact that five Britons had been standing on one side of the top deck affecting the vessel's stability, according to investigators.

The head of the inquiry team said the position of the passengers and crew on the craft's left side would have "raised the centre of gravity" as a wave struck from the right, causing it to tilt and overturn.

Initial investigations into the tragedy have also revealed none of those who died had been wearing life jackets.
