Burna Boy Offers to Pay Burial Costs for Children Killed in U.S. Birthday Party Shooting
Nigerian music star Burna Boy has offered to cover the funeral expenses of four young victims killed during a mass shooting at a children’s birthday party in Stockton, California, United States.
The incident occurred on Saturday, November 29, at Monkey Space, a banquet hall in unincorporated San Joaquin County. What was meant to be a joyful celebration ended in tragedy when unknown gunmen opened fire, killing four people aged 8, 13, 14 and 21, and injuring 11 others.
Local authorities say the attack appeared targeted, although no arrests have been made.

In a statement shared with The Stockton Record, Burna Boy said he learned of the incident while listening to “The Breakfast Club” radio show and felt compelled to assist the bereaved families.
“When I heard about the children murdered in Stockton, my heart broke. No family should ever face this kind of pain alone. I wanted to do whatever I could to support these parents as they begin the long process of healing,” he said.
The Grammy winner contacted U.S. music executive Wack 100, who then linked him with Stockton Vice Mayor Jason Lee to facilitate communication with the affected families.
Among the victims was 14-year-old Amari Peterson, described as an energetic student-athlete who had already begun making plans for college.
Officials praise gesture
Vice Mayor Lee commended Burna Boy for extending support to families he has never met, describing the gesture as a reminder of shared humanity during moments of national grief.
Burna Boy’s intervention comes at a time of mixed public reactions to the singer over recent viral moments, making his humanitarian gesture particularly notable.
Funeral arrangements for the victims are still underway, while police investigations continue.
