The Federal Executive Council has directed relevant ministries, departments and agencies to collaborate effectively towards ensuring Nigeria meets the June 2017 global deadline for migration from analogue to digital broadcasting.
Minister of information, Lai Mohammed is insisting that the country has no choice but to meet the deadline.
This was the core issue discussed at Wednesday's meeting of the council which was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Meanwhile before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council meeting, President Muhammadu Buhari swore-in four special advisers and one permanent secretary.
The Special Advisers are Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Political Adviser and Economic Adviser, Adeyemi Dipeolu.
Also sworn in were Special Adviser on Social Investment, Maryam Uwais and the Special Adviser on planning, Tijjani Abdullahi.
President Buhari also administered the oath to the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye.
