U.S. Attacks ISIS Terrorists in North-West Nigeria
President Donald Trump has revealed that the United State launched airstrikes against ISIS terrorists in northwest Nigeria on Christmas day
The airstrikes carried out by the U.S. Department of War hit ISIS camps in Sokoto State, killing multiple terrorists.
The operation was coordinated with Nigerian authorities with the aim of curbing threats to innocent citizens as well as Americans resident in Nigeria
The U.S. had been conducting surveillance flights over Nigeria since late November, gathering intel on terrorist organizations like Boko Haram and ISIS-West Africa.
President Trump says the strikes were in response to “vicious killing” of Christians and warns that more attacks would follow if the violence continues.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu, had previously rejected claims of Christian genocide, stating that terrorist attacks target both Muslims and Christians.
