BREAKING: Tinubu Accepts Resignation of Innovation Minister Geoffrey Nnaji Amid Allegations

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, following emerging allegations and what the minister described as a campaign of blackmail.

Nnaji, who was appointed in August 2023, announced his resignation on Monday, saying he could no longer allow “politically motivated distractions” to undermine the work of his ministry.

In his resignation letter addressed to the President, Nnaji expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve, stating:

> “I remain loyal to the ideals of this administration but will not allow unfounded allegations to overshadow the goals of innovation and national development.”

In a statement from the Presidency, President Tinubu was said to have acknowledged Nnaji’s contributions and wished him well in his future endeavours.

The development marks another major shake-up in Tinubu’s cabinet, coming at a time when the government is pursuing critical reforms in the technology and innovation sectors.
